You can pay via a QR code if you have cellular service. The Marin Transit 61 bus will drop you off at Bootjack just before 9AM.

DESCRIPTION:Rescheduled from the 1st to the 2nd  due to weather. Guided hike with Docent Franklin Young\n\n\nIn daylight we will take the Old Stage fire road to West Point Inn. Once there\, we’ll admire the rise of the Full Moon on a backdrop of city lights under clear skies if weather cooperate. We will return in the dark via the same Old Stage fire road. \nTrails: Old Stage Coach fire road (unpaved). 4 miles/ 150 ft elevation gain \nHike limited to 19. Sign-up through Meet-up  \nMeeting place: Pantoll by the Friends of Mt. Tam trailer. There is a $8 parking fee at Pantoll. \nStart time: 6PM / Return: 8PM \nModerated pace

This hike is rated “difficult” (7+ miles / 1500+ feet) per FMT guidelines.\nMeet:  Whitegate Ranch Trailhead on Panorama Highway (approx gps 37.892139\, -122.624366)\n\nParking:  Parking on the south side of Panorama or left side of road when you go from Pantoll to Stinson Beach\nTrails: Dipsea\, Steep Ravine\, Matt Davis\, back to Dipsea\n\nPace: Moderate but steady\nBrief breaks: At trail junctions for adjusting layers\, water\, catching up; rest stops at Pantoll and Stinson Beach with time for snacks\nRecommended: water\, sturdy shoes\, hiking poles\, snacks\, layers\nSign up: required via Meet-up.\nPlease cancel by 5PM the day before if you cannot attend.

SUMMARY:Mt Tamalpais State Park 5th Annual Science Quest Day
DESCRIPTION:The 5th Annual Friends of Mt Tam Science Quest Day will be on September 12\, 2025.  Experts in Fire Science\, Lichenology\, Botany\, Ornithology\, Geology\, Meteorology\, and Astronomy will provide in person experiences to highlight how science can deepen our understanding of our environment.    \nThe day will begin at 7:30am with a Master Birder led hike and wrap up with an amazing Star Party from 6:30 – 9:00pm.  In between are more than 15 exciting and truly unique experiences.   \nThere will be a very limited number of slots available for each event.    \nNEW THIS YEAR  \nMore Kid Events\nBring your kids (and their friends and their scout group).  Junior Ranger\, Geology\, Bingo\, Science Quest Trivia Night\, and “Into The Woods At The One Tam Van” are all kid (7-12 years old) friendly. \n20% off all Merchandise and Flash Sales\nFriends of Mt Tam members receive 20% off all merchandise at Pantoll and East Peak.
