DESCRIPTION:Red Flag fire closure notice – from Wednesday\, November 7\, 10PM until Friday\, November 9\, 7AM. \nMount Tamalpais State Park is under a Red Flag fire closure\, ordered by Marin County Fire Department; this closure shall be in effect at 10pm WED and shall be rescinded on FRI at 7AM. \nThe closure for Mt. Tamalpais State Park includes restricting all vehicle access to the upper Mountain; gates are closed and locked at Bolinas Fairfax Road/Ridgecrest and also at Pantoll Road/ Panoramic Highway. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic is not restricted. There are no fires allowed at Pantoll Campground\, Bootjack campground or the Steep Ravine campground or cabins.  \nPlease contact State Park staff with any questions or to get additional information.

Come learn about some of the first vascular plants dating back to the time when dinosaurs roamed the earth and beyond! We will walk down to Cataract Fall and continue to Alpine Lake. We’ll loop back up the Kent\, Potrero and the Mickey O’Brien trails. About 7.2 miles\, 1\,818 ft. elevation gain. Difficulty: Strenuous.
