9:30am “Rugged Plants of Mount Tam” Hike

Rugged Plants of Mount Tam” interpretive hike with docent Lizzy Silverstein.
Identify and learn about chamise, manzanita, chinquapin, toyon, coffeeberry, madrone, chamise, yerba santa, and golden fleece. Come away with a better understanding of how these plants effect Mount Tam and were used by indigenous people.

Distance: 4.9 miles
Elevation gain: 2136 ft
Moderately Strenuous.

What to bring: Come prepared. Wear good hiking shoes/boots. Bring plenty of water, lunch and snacks. Hiking poles are recommended on this mountain.

Participation: Hikes are limited to 20 people per leader. First come, first serve. Be on time to allow for parking and meeting with your group. No entrance fee. No pets (unless otherwise specified).

Cancellation policy: Rain or winds above 30 mph will cancel.

Parking: Pantoll, Bootjack, and East Peak trailheads require an $8 parking fee (exact change or check).
