May 31st: Micro Moon hike from Pantoll at 7:30PM

On May 31st, We’ll leave Pantoll promptly at 7:30PM to observe an unusual situation: the Sun will set at 8:25PM and the Moon will rise at the same time. Under twilight, we will take the Old Stage fire road to West Point Inn. We’ll arrive just in time to admire a near Full Moon on a backdrop of city and East Bay lights(weather permitting). We will return in the dark the same way via the Old Stage fire road.

This hike will be led by Docent Franklin Young. Hike docents have been trained under the California State Parks Volunteers in the Park Program (VIPP).
Trails: Stage Coach fire road (unpaved) out and back. It is suitable for low light and light rain.
Meeting place: Pantoll by the Friends of Mt. Tam trailer. There is a $8 parking fee. Pay with exact change or QR code.
